AB Joseph Kurtz is a childhood neighbor of a very good friend of mine, and by all accounts, a stand-up guy; not that character or lineage has much to do with his ability to stop the hemorrhage of Catholics through the doors of the church.<\/p>\n<p>Thoughts of an exodus permeate everyone&#8217;s mind at one time or another.<\/p>\n<p>The ensuing connection, taut as it may be, holds or it does not.<\/p>\n<p>Certainly, everything I know about life and love\u2026 and disregard and fear, I acquired from the &#8220;vocations.&#8221; Vocations means priests, nuns, etc. The first mandate is that they have their own language.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The future should be quite interesting as the Catholic church wrestles with its relevancy in the lives of its American dalliers.
