It’s been a month of good-byes. Good-bye to my church. Good-bye to my daughter. And (most thankfully) good-bye to the now ex-husband. The papers are filed and we’re moments away from a court-stamped divorce. Lesson learned: You can’t fix everyone. Some cling to guns and religion, others to addiction and warped judgement. The most important lesson of all: Your response is a choice.
